Sunday, April 21, 2013 – Cuckoo in Cocoa:
We’re still
here! It was windy and stormy last
night, and we awoke to another dark and stormy day. The sky cannot seem to rid itself of the
billows of black, dark gray, and “white” storm clouds even though the wind is
constantly blowing so hard it should give itself a headache. Occasionally, there will be a break in the
clouds and a glimmer of sun will shine through but it is soon covered up again
by a new band of storm clouds. The
temperature is also far from what I would anticipate it should be in Florida in
mid April.
We went out
to dinner last night with our friends from the Annapolis area, and I actually
wore long pants and a turtleneck shirt and was quite comfortable if not a
little on the cool side.
Bob spent
the day glaring at the weather websites on the internet, and we are planning,
hopefully, to try and leave on Tuesday.
Another
boat from Annapolis came in here this afternoon. That makes three boats from the Sailing Club
of the Chesapeake who are waiting out the weather in this marina. We all plan to get together for drinks this
afternoon and then maybe go out to the Thai Restaurant again. The camaraderie of our group makes the
weather more bearable, but I think we are all tired of it. I, jokingly, said to our friends that all
this wind means that there won’t be a drop of wind on the Chesapeake Bay this
summer when we want it. Well, at least
our sailing friends will want some wind.
Actually,
folks, that’s all I have to write about today.
I don’t even have any good cat stories, except that I think she was mad
at us this morning when I didn’t make the bed at her demand.
