Thursday, January 24, 2013 – Cocoa:
We’ve been
here since November 21, 2012 – several years now...no, no, no…just several
weeks…
Woke up to
a beautiful morning and since we are going to be getting a car tomorrow decided
to do boat chores today. That consisted
of doing laundry, finally paying bills, and a trip down into the engine room
for Bob. Bob actually started the
engines this morning, and they roared to life happily thinking that we were
finally going to be bugging out. Sadly,
they were mistaken. The cat, however,
had forgotten what the engine noise was all about and as soon as she heard the
engine buzzer go off, she headed for the hills…or under our covers…where she
stayed for the entire day.
Other than
that, we pretty much just hung around and played cards and read. However, along about midday, or right after
lunch, we saw a big DeFever head into the marina and to our surprise it was the
people who have the “Active Captain” website which is one of Bob’s favorite
resources for traveling the waterway. We
have not met them yet even though they are just one boat away from us, but,
hopefully, we’ll be able to say hello and tell them how much we like their
website.
After that
we decided to go for a walk along the river like we used to do, and we watched
dolphins looking for their evening meal and pelicans doing their dive bomb
routine.
Back to the
boat – dinner will be poached chicken over pasta. Good grief, I simply can’t take this much
excitement much longer.
Tomorrow,
we will run some errands since we will have a car (probably another trip to the
grocery store), but sometime over the weekend we are going to try to go visit
Winter Park. We understand they have a
great Tiffany museum and it’s just a nice place to visit. Maybe I’ll have a little more to blog about
then.
More later…
