Sunday, December 9, 2012 – Cocoa (Yet again):
The morning
was foggy again, but the sun came out soon enough and the temperature soared to
over 80°. We sat up on the flybridge in shorts and
T-shirts and marveled at the weather. In
addition to nice weather here, it is still relatively light at 6:00 p.m., which
I really like. At home it looks like
midnight at 5:00 in the evening. I
forced the cat to come up and join us, and for a fleeting moment she thought
about exploring around, but some strange noise spooked her, and she skittered
back down into the cabin. She is quite
comfortable roaming the decks now, and she reappeared to sun herself on the
deck in the baking sun. She is so
content to go outside now, that she will sit at the door and meow until we let
her out. Fortunately, no signs of
considering a jump to the pier yet, thank goodness!
We answered
some e-mails, then decided to go into town for lunch and some Christmas
shopping. After a successful shopping
expedition we came back to the boat in hopes of watching the Ravens play, but
no such luck. That particular game was
not broadcast here. Found out they lost
anyway.
So there
you have it folks – another exciting day in Cocoa. It’s a good thing we are going home soon as I
don’t think I could handle much more excitement. Tomorrow we are going to rent a car again and
do some more exploring on Merritt Island.
Maybe the Nature Preserve will hold some interesting new adventure. I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow.
