Sunday, December 2, 2012 – Cocoa:
Well, whaddya know – we got rid of that awful smell in the surrounding area of our boat.  Sure enough – it was definitely the who knows how many days old fish on the transom of the boat next door.  Not only did this improve the quality of the air, but also our outlook about things in general!
I was “sleepless in Cocoa” again last night.  Can’t figure it out…we had TV, we were back in our old spots on the “couch”, the cat was happy because it seemed as though we had returned to our old normal and she was curled up in my lap, but I still couldn’t sleep.  Maybe it was because I didn’t hear any trains.
Speaking of hearing things – the boat munching shrimp seem to be fewer in numbers lately – however, the ones that are still clinging to the boat for their meals seem to have gotten louder.  That’s disquieting…and…ah…I’m still thinkin’ about a movie here…
The Arts Festival was still going on across the street in the village, and Bob and I trekked over there after breakfast.  I won’t say what, but I did get one very interesting gift for Christmas.  Hope it gets the laughs I think it will.  It was a good thing we went over there and came back when we did, because not long after, there was some sort of motorcycle rally for something on Merritt Island.  I tried to find out what it was, but couldn’t, but as a lot of the riders were wearing Santa costumes, I’m guessing it had something to do with Toys for Tots or some other holiday benefit.  And when I say there were a lot of riders, I mean a LOT…the roads were actually closed off to all traffic except the motorcycles and this “parade” lasted over an hour!  I hope it was for a really good cause, because it was noisy and impossible to go anywhere.  I was glad my cousins had come yesterday!
Bob has now gotten out all the charts again, and apparently we are going to have a “boat meeting” tomorrow to start planning the next “leg” of our voyage…and I was just getting settled in.  I think I will remind him that we still have a challenge ahead of us just to get home with the cat and back again.
For those football fans out there, I am so sorry the Ravens lost.
