Saturday, December 8, 2012 – Cocoa (yet again):
Foggy again
this morning – made me glad we didn’t have any boating destinations we had to
head off for! As I sit here and write
this, the man two boats away from us is decorating his boat to the hilt with Christmas
lights. Maybe he will be in the boat
parade.
We saw a
wonderful production of a musical version of A Christmas Carol last night. For a local production, the talent was
phenomenal! The ghost scene was terrific
– flying ghosts – it was mesmerizing.
The director/producer of the theatre was also the director of the musical,
and she was was pretty dynamic. She came
out on stage in a fire-engine Christmas red dress and gave a little speech
beforehand about the musical and their fundraising drive, and, believe me, if
she asked you directly for money, you would be coughing something up!
It’s been a
pretty quiet day here in Cocoa (oh yeah, that reminds me – we’ll probably
listen to A Prairie Home Companion tonight on the radio), and if you didn’t get
the reference, you need to listen to more “old fogie” radio.
I worked on
my little sewing project till I got bored.
Bob decided he ought to go down in the engine room and re-check out what
the mechanic had done down there yesterday.
After my indoctrination into impellers, I had this uncontrollable desire
to follow him down there and maybe do things like check out hose clamps, but
then fortunately, came to my senses!
Not too
much to write about, I’m afraid. After
my little poem experiment, I got threatening e-mails, so no more poetry – at
least until I get desperate again which could be any minute.
In reality,
I think we may have come to our “first destination” a little too early. I think we maybe should have gone a little
farther south. You can only do so much
in a little tiny town with no car.
However, this is close to the airport, and a great place to keep the
boat while we go back home, and, remember, Bob can check out the boat with just
a few clicks of the mouse thanks to the surveillance camera!
Home is
less than a week away. Groceries really
are running low, as I have done my best to plan down to the nth morsel so we
don’t have to throw out anything.
However, I don’t know what I was thinking when I packed that extra large
bottle of ketchup – maybe someone in the office here would like it.
